Comparing the Gettysburg and Providence II models

February 2, 2017 Building a Custom Home

While we have a huge variety of floorplans to choose from, allowing our customers a wide range of options, it’s still true that there are certain floorplans that generate a lot of interest, and for good reason. Two of those floorplans are the Gettysburg and Providence II.

You can see the best of both of these stunning floorplans at our Sandusky Model, which features a Gettysburg model with a Providence II kitchen, but for our online readers, we wanted to dive in deeper and explore why these two floorplans are so popular — and what makes them different!

You truly can’t get more classic than the Gettysburg. It’s a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home that features a two-car garage and more than 1,700 square feet of airy, comfortable living space. Equally as classic is the Providence II, with virtually the same spaces as the Gettysburg – 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1,700 square feet and a 2 car garage. They’re both ranch-style as well! Here are some of the things that separate these two floorplans, though.

The living, dining, kitchen combo make for ideal entertaining, but each has their own special layout. The large diagonal kitchen opens up into both the dining and the living space in the Gettysburg, which means you don’t have to neglect your guests as you prepare snacks and drinks. The layout in the Providence II is a bit different, with a more distinctly set-off kitchen and dining room area that also opens to the great room.

Both have an owner’s entry via the garage, but they’re laid out differently. In the Gettysburg, the laundry is set off and separate from the entryway, which leads directly into the kitchen. In the Providence II, though, the owners entry and laundry are combined, which then leads into the foyer, keeping the kitchen separate.

The master suite is luxurious, but in different ways. In the Providence II, the bathroom is a singular large space, and you go through the bathroom to reach the generous walk-in closet. In the Gettysburg, we laid things out a bit differently. The toilet is separated from the rest of the bathroom, and the walk-in closet is simply next to the bathroom, not connected in any way.

The thing about these floorplans is that while they have some differences, they also have some great things in common, too. As mentioned, both are ideal for entertaining, given their open kitchen and living space combinations.

The generous 2-car garages in both mean you have plenty of room for storage; the spacious guest or kids bedrooms both have ample closet space; and the layout means guests are treated to a wide-open foyer and airy living space as soon as they walk in the door!

We think you might like one–or both!– of these floorplans, so get in touch with a member of our team soon to discuss the possibilities!
