Celebrating another successful Not-So-Random Acts of Kindness

Being in the home building industry is rewarding in countless ways

It’s wonderful to be able to hand over the keys to an awaiting family and watch them step inside the home they’ve been dreaming of. It’s fulfilling to take a plan on paper and a computer screen and bring it to life, and it’s enriching to work with a team of dedicated professionals every day, people dedicated to helping bring dreams to life.

At Wayne, though, we like to take things a bit further, and give back to our communities in ways that help to care for the less fortunate among us. That’s part of the reason we’ve been hosting our Not-So-Random Acts of Kindness event for several years running. It gives us a chance to help families looking for a new home while also helping worthwhile charities in the communities we work in.

How it works

When you purchase a new Wayne home during the holiday season, we’ll donate $150 to a charity of your choice. Over the years, we’ve raised tens of thousands of dollars for a wide range of nonprofits, through both this program and other give-back programs we host annually. Our staff gets in on the fun by volunteering, and raising awareness of this program, and generally creating a culture of gratitude day in and day out.

We hope to create a meaningful difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate, because together, we can do more. And this year, we did a lot! We raised $12,300 for more than a dozen charities! That’s a lot of not-so-random kindness, don’t you think? Here are some of the charities that benefited from this year’s program:

  • Wounded Warrior Project
  • Project Ed Bear
  • Cure SMA
  • Alzheimers Association
  • St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
  • Humane Society of Erie County
  • Lawrence County Humane Society
  • United Way of Union County
  • The Homeless Families Foundation
  • American Cancer Society
  • Webark Estates, Inc.
  • Tri County Help Center, Inc.
  • Ronald McDonald House in Toldeo, OH
  • Make-A-Wish OH KY & IN
  • Bridge Home Health and Hospice
  • Make a Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Inc.
  • Central Westmoreland Habitat for Humanity
  • Animal Rescue League of Western PA
  • The Salvation Army – Livingston County Corps
  • Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan

We’d like to thank those homeowners who decided to build their dream home with us this holiday season; we couldn’t have done this without you!
